Babies to love while we wait...

It never fails that once you start trying to have a baby, everyone around you is magically pregnant. Over the past 5 and a half years, we have seen many friends, family, and others around us experience the joy of having a baby. I know each person who deals with the infertility experiences, emotions, and feelings in different ways, and I am the first to admit that I have not always dealt with this situation in the best way. It is extremely painful to watch others experience the thing you want so desperately for yourself! However, I will say the one way that I have found to not focus on my own pain is to instead focus on the joy that comes with the birth of each new baby! I feel that God has blessed us with babies to love on while we wait! In this way, I feel that we have been extremely lucky!

Our first precious girl that we got to love on was our niece Jordan!

Jordan changed our world! Her burst of energy made us more excited than ever to become parents of our own. Her first 2 years we got to see her every week of her life! Now that she lives in Springtown, we don't get to her as much, but she has grown into the funniest, smartest, most beautiful 4 year old on the planet. She is for sure the light of my life! This past weekend I got to hear her pray in church to thank God that Uncle D and Aunt Heather got to come visit and that they have a safe trip home! What a blessing to her this sweet voice lift our names up in prayer!

2 years ago, our world was brightened again when Miss Kyndall Kay made her entrance!

We met Kyndall's mama, Kortney, while working at Grape Creek. Kortney coached with both Derek and I, and also taught PE with Derek. Kortney and Derek quickly developed a brother/sister relationship and Kortney has become one of my very best friends. I loved getting to spend the early parts of Kyndall's life loving on her, holding her, and helping out her mama! They moved to Big Spring last year, but we still manage to see them at least once a month. Kyndall is my girl! She calls me "My Header"!!! Precious girl! I am so thankful that that Kortney and Brian allow us to be a part of Kyndall's life and watch her grow! I am also so thankful that she has so willingly involved me in both of her pregnancies! So much that Derek even drove her to the hospital when her water broke! Love this girl! And her mama too! Can't wait to meet her new little one!

This past summer we got to meet the cutest little thing I have ever seen in this entire world!

Jaxson Mitchell entered this world and it seemed like I can't remember life without him! He was the snuggliest, sweetest little boy in this world! His face lights up when he sees Aunt Header and he has now decided that Uncle D is pretty fun to play with too! We are so blessed to get to have such a sweet, cute nephew and we can't wait to watch him grow! Life is more fun with Jaxson in it!

Each of these kiddos have AMAZING parents of their own, but we are so blessed that they have allowed us to be a part of their life! While we wait, these three have changed our world for the better! We can't wait until our own children are running around after these three, trying to keep up! We may not ever know the reason why we have had to wait this long, but we have worked very hard in the past two years to count our blessings instead of focusing on our pain! We believe that God is constantly working in our lives to mold us into the parents that we will one day be! Part of his work has been to allow us to be a part of the lives of these precious children! We love being Aunt Header and Uncle D!!!
