Good morning! Things are going good here in the Schoen casa! We are slowly figuring out the eating/sleeping schedule and working on getting these two to sleep a little more each night. They don't always cooperate...but we are working on it! I am getting used to being home by myself but we miss having Daddy home with us!!! Grammy comes over almost everyday to help out with feedings, cleaning, laundry, and watching the twins so I can get out a little bit, which is wonderful! We don't know what we would do without Grammy! I am trying to venture out a little more...even went to Mom's bible study this week which was my first trip out with the twins by myself. Other than that they have only been to the doctor, Grammy and Grumpy's, to take Daddy lunch, and church! We are getting more adventurous! We still are not suppose to take them out into public for another month to protect against sickness, but we are getting into a better routine for sure. I LOVE staying home and can't believe I am going to have to go back to work in 5 weeks! THANKFULLY it will only be for two short weeks, which includes finals! Can't imagine having to be away from these babies any longer than that! God is so good and I am thankful for a job where I can be home this much with them. The timing has been very good with the end of the school year in sight! We are blessed!
We had the twins' one month check-up yesterday. It went GREAT!!! I was so nervous about them gaining weight and growing like they should. I think any breast-feeding mom is worried that their baby may not be getting enough or may not be gaining. After we had some trouble in the beginning and had several weight checks and trips to the lactation specialist, I was praying that we were doing good. We have been working SO hard! Thankfully our work had paid off and both babies are gaining weight like CHAMPS! At the two week appointment, Adelyn was 5 lbs 9 oz and under her birth weight and Tucker was 5 lbs 4.5 oz and right at his birth weight. After three weeks, Adelyn weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and Tucker actually weighed more than her at 7 lbs 11.5 oz!!! Praise God for weight gain and healthy babies! Both babies measured 21 inches and are doing great! We were so surprised by the weight...I was shooting for being close to 7 pounds and they were getting close to 8!!! Our doctor was super pleased with their weight and we are happy to continue breast-feeding and pumping/giving bottles. So far neither baby has had to have formula which we are thankful for!
Our lives have changed so much in the past month! Our new lives revolve around feeding and sleeping schedules, diaper changes, laundry, bath time, spit up, dressing babies, cuddles, singing songs, and rocking babies. Even with the sleepless nights and difficult days, we could not be MORE BLESSED! These two have completely melted our hearts and we CANNOT imagine life without them! They amazingly wonderful and make our days SO HAPPY! Derek cannot wait to get home each day and hold and rock those sweet babies! I love getting to spend time with them during the day and LOVE their sweet snuggles and cuddles. Adelyn is still our funny little piggy. She loves to grunt and talk to us and cracks us up with her funny little faces. Tucker is still our serious boy...but is SUPER cuddly! He loves to be as close to us as possible and will crawl up under our neck to nuzzle as far as he can. They both are changing SO MUCH daily! They are plumping up for sure...getting more and more alert...and starting to stay awake more. We are SO IN LOVE with these two little blessings! We could not thank God more for giving us such perfect gifts!
This past weekend, Jessica Boling came by to take some pictures of the twins! She sent me some sneak-peaks at what she had done so I thought I would share. They are AWESOME! Can't wait to see the rest! Hope everyone is having a great week! WE continue to covet your prayers as we are learning to be parents of twins! We also ask that you join us in prayer for Tucker and Adelyn...that they continue to be healthy and growing! We also pray that you all help us as we try to raise them to know and love our awesome God! We love you all!

Just thought I would share one quick story that I never posted on here instead of a scripture. JUST in case any of you were doubting GOD's HAND in all of this...
We have been reading Jesus Calling this year every night as a devotional. It gives a scripture or two at the bottom of each day that goes with the message. Anyone want to guess the scripture that was on March 6th...the day the twins were born???? It was Psalm 37:4. Sound familiar??? It goes something like this: "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." Who could possibly ever believe that these two precious babies are not gifts straight from God??? Our Father LOVES to give gifts to His children...my babies are living proof!
Beautiful pictures!
